Lucy was okay with Maya going by herself if she knew Maya was gonna be safe. Lucy whispered once more “she can go but ground rules no drinking, no drugs, and none of your crazy friends come over and no partying either”. those were the basic ground rules and used for Maya’s safety she is a mother and one with her child’s best interest at heart so those rules really weren’t too much to ask

“I don’t drink on a daily basis anymore, Lucy.” He said with a proud smile as he continued to make faces, making Maya laugh again as she fiddled with his hands. “And believe me, drugs are the last thing I want to do, remember whaat happened last time?” He turned his eyes to Lucy before sighing. “Or should I say who?” He shifted his gaze back to the little girl. “And I assure you Peyton is not crazy at all.” That part slipped, he wasn’t going to tell anyone about Peyton, but Lucy being nonchalant with everything about him, surely she would brush it off.

Of all the people he could meet again in Lima, it had to be Isabella Ryan. They met when Charlie was just starting out on his ‘adventurous and free spirit’ phase, close to a Yes-man to be exact, and Isabella Ryan was the last missing piece to complete the transformation. The beginning was exciting and fun, the thrill it brought Charlie Hudson was unbelievable, not having to worry about attachment and feelings, it seemed easier to begin with. That was until he found himself actually developing feelings for her, not certain what it really is, but it was strong enough to make him want to see her every now and then. She, on the other hand, found it bothersome. Can’t say he was a saint, he had his own flings going on in the side, but Isabella was his favorite. And despite of all the shit that went down between them, he still could not say no to her.

He had been sitting at the Lima Bean for a few minutes now. Late as always, he thought to himself with a sigh as he took out his phone and sent her a message. I’m at the Bean. Where are you now?

Maya giggled at his funny face’s quite amused. Lucy couldn’t help but be amused herself she giggled and then made a joke “don’t worry Maya your not the first girl to laugh at cousin Charlie”. She didn’t mean that really she was just joking  and sure did make Maya laugh. She turned her head back too look at Charlie “New York you want us to come with you?” trying to say it quite enough so Maya didn’t hear and get her hopes up

The smiles and laughs from the girls would have been enough, if Lucy hadn’t said cousin Charlie. He didn’t think that would hurt, being denied of the privileges of being the father of your own child. But sitting there, being hopeless about it, it did hurt. A lot. He brushed the thought off and figured Lucy was just staying true to her word, to not let anyone know about what really happened. When Lucy mentioned herself going to New York as well, Charlie felt alarmed. “I was wondering if it’s okay that only Maya came…” He said, trying hard not to sound that she was not welcomed. “But it’s fine, I understand you wouldn’t want to be away from her.” He smiled, awkwardly… again.

At one time Lucy had the perfect boyfriend sweet, caring, funny, charming ,she was gonna marry him one day but the night of the party that all changed. when he found out that the baby wasn’t his he left she still told everyone the baby was his and they believed her. it was still a tender topic for her but she tried to put it in the back of her mind. “were both good I’m getting the team ready for the championships and there all working amazingly hard” 

“That sounds great,” He said smiling at her and listening intently, trying to feel if there was something off. He turned to Maya and started making faces, the little girl giggled. It would have been nice to be able to tell his parents that he fathered such a beautiful little girl. Heck, it felt good even knowing he was human enough to have been able to father a child. All his life he figured he was just some dumb robot that people took advantage of. “So, do you think Maya would like to go to New York for Christmas?”
